GeoEye - This half-meter resolution image of Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, Africa was collected by the GeoEye-1 satellite on July 7, 2009. The image features Victoria Falls, one of the seven "Natural Wonders of the World," and part of Victoria Falls National Park, which covers 23 square kilometers (5,683 acres). Since the construction of the Victoria Falls Bridge in 1905, the falls have become Africa's number one geographic and tourist attraction. Known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya (Smoke That Thunders), the Falls originate from the 1.61-kilometer (one-mile) wide Zambezi River in western Zimbabwe.
