Satellite Images of North Korea Give a Rare Glimpse of Life Under Kim Jong-il - GeoEye High Resolution Imagery

In the wake of the death of Kim Jong-il and uncertainty over what Kim Jong-un's regime will resemble, satellites have been taking unrestricted snapshots of the secretive communist state from space. This image was taken by GeoEye's GeoEye-1 satellite on October 9, 2010 the day before Pyongyang staged a parade commemorating 65 years of state rule. (Picture: GeoEye)
