Marine Museum Celebrates Geography - GeoEye High Resolution Imagery Featured in Article

TRIANGLE, Va. - More than 250 students from Prince William and Stafford Counties had a hands-on geography lesson Thursday during the National Museum of the Marine Corps' Geography Awareness Celebration...Among the organizations who participated in the event were GeoEye, the University of Mary Washington, George Mason University, Virginia Geographic Alliance, Library of Virginia, National Geographic Society, National Council for Geographic Education, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, U.S. Geological Survey, Herff Jones/Nystrom and Prince William County Public Schools.


Uyen Dinh, GeoEye's senior director for government affairs, said her company's chief executive officer Matt O'Connell is a big supporter of science and technology education for kids. Events such as this one can help influence the youngsters to pursue a career in either of those fields, she said.
